Are There Limitations to Using Sound Waves in Cancer Diagnosis and Treatment?
Despite its advantages, there are limitations to using sound waves in cancer management:
Depth Penetration: Ultrasound may have limited ability to penetrate deeply into the body, making it less effective for detecting or treating deep-seated tumors. Image Resolution: Although improving, ultrasound image resolution can be lower than that of other imaging modalities like MRI or CT scans. Operator Dependency: The accuracy of ultrasound imaging can depend on the skill and experience of the operator.
