The donor undergoes ovarian stimulation to produce multiple eggs. The eggs are retrieved through a minor surgical procedure. The retrieved eggs are fertilized in a laboratory setting. The resulting embryos are transferred to the recipient's uterus at the optimal time for implantation.
The recipient will also undergo hormone treatments to prepare her uterus for pregnancy.
