How Can One Minimize Exposure to Chloramines and Their By-products?
There are several ways to reduce exposure to chloramines and their by-products:
Use a water filter that is certified to remove chloramines and DBPs. Let tap water sit in an open container for a few hours to allow chloramines to dissipate. Use alternative water sources, such as bottled water, for drinking and cooking. Limit time spent in swimming pools treated with chloramines, as inhalation of chloramine vapors can also be a concern.
