UV filters work by either absorbing the UV radiation and converting it into heat, or by reflecting the UV rays away from the skin. There are two main types of UV filters: chemical filters and physical filters. Chemical filters, like avobenzone and oxybenzone, absorb UV radiation, while physical filters, such as zinc oxide and titanium dioxide, reflect it.
