Curcumin has shown anti-cancer properties through various mechanisms. It can inhibit the proliferation of cancer cells by interfering with multiple cell signaling pathways. Curcumin has been found to induce apoptosis (programmed cell death) in cancer cells while sparing normal cells. Additionally, it can inhibit the growth of new blood vessels (angiogenesis) that tumors need to grow and spread.
