SPECT and PET (Positron Emission Tomography) are both nuclear medicine techniques but they have some key differences:
SPECT uses gamma-emitting tracers, while PET uses positron-emitting tracers. PET generally provides higher resolution images and more quantitative data compared to SPECT. SPECT is more widely available and typically less expensive than PET.
