What are the Challenges of High Throughput Screening?
Despite its advantages, HTS also faces several challenges:
Complexity: The sheer volume of data generated requires sophisticated bioinformatics tools for analysis. False Positives/Negatives: High rates of false positives and negatives can complicate the identification of truly effective compounds. Biological Relevance: Results obtained in vitro may not always translate to in vivo or clinical settings. Cost: Initial setup and maintenance of HTS facilities can be expensive.
