Clinical guidelines recommend the use of caspofungin for empiric therapy in neutropenic patients suspected of having fungal infections, as well as for the treatment of confirmed invasive candidiasis and aspergillosis. It is also used in cases where other antifungal treatments have failed or are not tolerated.
