What are the Primary Challenges in Cancer Care in Rwanda?
One of the primary challenges in Rwanda is the limited healthcare infrastructure. There is a shortage of specialized healthcare professionals, including oncologists, radiologists, and surgeons. Additionally, there is a lack of advanced diagnostic and treatment facilities, which are crucial for effective cancer care.
Another significant challenge is late diagnosis. Many patients present with advanced stages of cancer due to a lack of awareness and limited access to screening programs. This late presentation often leads to poorer outcomes.
