The treatment of hemoptysis in cancer patients depends on the underlying cause, severity, and overall health of the patient. Options include:
Radiation therapy to shrink the tumor and reduce bleeding. Endobronchial therapy such as laser therapy, cryotherapy, or stent placement to control bleeding and maintain airway patency. Embolization of the bronchial arteries to occlude the blood vessels supplying the tumor. Surgical intervention, although this is less common and usually reserved for severe cases or when other treatments fail.
