A cancer survivor is an individual who has been diagnosed with cancer, irrespective of the stage or type of cancer, and has completed initial treatment. Survivorship begins at the time of diagnosis and continues through the rest of the individual's life. It encompasses the physical, emotional, and social aspects of living with and beyond cancer.
