Oncology nurses typically need to have an active Registered Nurse (RN) license, which requires completion of a nursing program and passing the NCLEX-RN exam. Many oncology nurses also obtain specialized certifications like the Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN) credential, offered by the Oncology Nursing Certification Corporation (ONCC).
