Exposure to ethylene oxide is associated with an increased risk of leukemia and other blood cancers. Formaldehyde exposure has been linked to cancers of the nasopharynx, nasal sinuses, and possibly leukemia as well. Continuous or high-level exposure to these chemicals can significantly elevate the risk.
