What Types of Cancer Patients Require Platelet Transfusions?
Patients with hematologic cancers such as leukemia, lymphoma, and multiple myeloma are the most common recipients of platelet transfusions. Additionally, patients with solid tumors who are undergoing intensive treatment regimens may also require transfusions if their platelet counts drop to critical levels.
