Cancer can originate from various types of cells, including epithelial cells, mesenchymal cells, and hematopoietic cells. The majority of cancers, known as carcinomas, arise from epithelial cells lining organs and tissues. Other types include sarcomas, which originate from mesenchymal cells, and leukemias and lymphomas, which arise from hematopoietic cells.
