What Types of Immune Cells Are Involved in Cancer Response?
Several types of immune cells are involved in the body's response to cancer, including:
T-cells: These cells can directly kill cancer cells or help coordinate the immune response. Natural Killer (NK) cells: These cells can destroy cancer cells without prior sensitization. Dendritic cells: These cells present antigens to T-cells, initiating the immune response. Macrophages: These cells can engulf and digest cancer cells and also release cytokines to modulate the immune response.
