Susan G. Komen was a woman who battled breast cancer and unfortunately passed away in 1980 at the age of 36. Her sister, Nancy G. Brinker, promised Susan that she would do everything in her power to end breast cancer. This promise led to the creation of the Susan G. Komen organization in 1982, which has since become a leading force in the fight against breast cancer.
