How Do Ionization Chambers Work?

Ionization chambers function based on the principle of ionizing radiation interacting with a gas within the chamber. When radiation passes through the gas, it ionizes the gas molecules, creating positive ions and free electrons. An electric field across the chamber collects these ions, generating a current that is proportional to the amount of radiation. This current is then measured to determine the radiation dose.
