How Does Genetic Heterogeneity Affect FA Sensitivity?
FA is genetically heterogeneous, with at least 22 identified complementation groups (FANCA through FANCW). Variations in these genes can influence the degree of sensitivity to DNA damage. For instance, mutations in FANCD2 or FANCI, which play a central role in the FA pathway, might result in different levels of DNA repair efficiency, altering the sensitivity to chemotherapy agents.
