incomplete resection

How is Incomplete Resection Diagnosed?

The diagnosis of incomplete resection is typically confirmed through pathological examination. After the surgery, the excised tissue is analyzed by a pathologist to determine if cancer cells are present at the margins. If cancer cells are found, it indicates that not all of the tumor was removed. Imaging studies such as MRI or CT scans may also be used postoperatively to assess the presence of any residual tumor.
