An autologous transplant, also known as an autologous stem cell transplant, is a procedure in which a patient’s own stem cells are collected, stored, and later infused back into the patient after intensive treatment. This type of transplant is often used in the context of cancer treatment, particularly for hematologic malignancies such as lymphoma and multiple myeloma.
