Cancer cells are rogue versions of normal cells that have acquired mutations leading to uncontrolled growth and division. Unlike normal cells, cancer cells do not respond to the usual signals that regulate the cell cycle. They often bypass checkpoints, leading to tumor formation and potentially metastasis, where cells spread to other parts of the body.
