Exclusive Provider Organizations, or EPOs, are a type of health insurance plan that requires members to use a network of doctors and hospitals. In an EPO, patients must receive care from the planâs network of providers except in cases of emergency. This network is exclusive, meaning that if a patient seeks care outside this network, the insurance may not cover the costs.
