What Are the Challenges of Open Access in Cancer Research?
Despite the advantages, open access initiatives face several challenges. One issue is the quality control of published articles, as some open access journals may have less rigorous peer-review processes. Another challenge is the funding model, as authors often have to pay article processing charges (APCs) to publish in open access journals. This can be a barrier for researchers with limited funding.
