What are the Types of Hearing Loss in Cancer Patients?
Cancer patients may experience different types of hearing loss:
Conductive hearing loss: Occurs when sound waves cannot efficiently travel through the outer or middle ear. Sensorineural hearing loss: Results from damage to the inner ear or auditory nerve, often caused by ototoxic medications. Mixed hearing loss: A combination of both conductive and sensorineural hearing loss.
