What Diagnostic Tests are Used to Detect Liver Function Abnormalities?
Several diagnostic tests can detect liver function abnormalities. Blood tests, including liver function tests (LFTs), measure enzymes and proteins in the blood that indicate liver health. Imaging tests like ultrasound, CT scans, and MRIs can visualize the liver and detect tumors or abnormalities. A liver biopsy may also be performed to examine liver tissue under a microscope for cancer cells.
