Bone marrow infiltration refers to the process where cancer cells invade and occupy the bone marrow space. This can impair the marrow's ability to produce healthy blood cells, leading to various hematologic complications. Common malignancies that lead to bone marrow infiltration include leukemia, lymphoma, and multiple myeloma, as well as metastatic cancers such as breast, prostate, and lung cancer.
