Mutations or deletions in the ARID1A gene have been linked to several types of cancer, including ovarian clear cell carcinoma, endometrial cancer, and gastric cancer. Loss of ARID1A function can lead to disrupted chromatin remodeling, resulting in aberrant gene expression and uncontrolled cell proliferation. Consequently, ARID1A is considered a tumor suppressor gene.
