Tumor antigens are proteins or other molecules expressed on the surface of cancer cells that can be recognized by the immune system. These antigens can be categorized into tumor-specific antigens (TSAs) and tumor-associated antigens (TAAs). TSAs are unique to cancer cells, while TAAs are found in both cancerous and normal cells but are overexpressed in cancer cells. Enhancing the presentation of these antigens can improve the immune system's ability to target cancer cells.
