Busulfan is most commonly used to treat chronic myelogenous leukemia (CML). It is also used as part of the conditioning regimen for patients undergoing stem cell transplantation for various hematologic malignancies, including acute myeloid leukemia (AML) and myelodysplastic syndromes (MDS).
