Which Types of Cancer Are Associated with Chronic Ear Infections?
The most common type of cancer associated with chronic ear infections is nasopharyngeal carcinoma. This cancer occurs in the nasopharynx, the area behind the nose and above the back of the throat. Additionally, chronic ear infections may increase the risk of temporal bone carcinoma and middle ear carcinoma, although these are rarer.
