Are There Any Approved Oligonucleotide Therapies for Cancer?
As of now, several oligonucleotide therapies are in clinical trials, with a few having gained approval for use in treating certain types of cancer. For instance, Genasense (oblimersen) is an antisense oligonucleotide that targets the BCL-2 gene, which is overexpressed in some cancers. While not all oligonucleotide therapies have made it to market, ongoing research and clinical trials continue to explore their potential.
