Immunotherapy aims to boost the body's natural defenses to fight cancer. Several strategies are being explored to enhance MHC Class I expression on cancer cells, thereby improving their visibility to CD8+ T cells. These include using cytokines like Interferon-gamma (IFN-γ) to upregulate MHC Class I molecules and developing drugs that can reverse the downregulation mechanisms employed by cancer cells.
