How Do CaCo-2 Cells Compare to Other Cancer Models?
Compared to other in vitro models, CaCo-2 cells provide a more physiologically relevant system for studying oral drug delivery and intestinal absorption. However, other models, such as three-dimensional cultures and patient-derived xenografts, offer insights into tumor behavior and drug response that CaCo-2 cells cannot. Each model has its strengths and weaknesses, and they are often used complementarily in cancer research.
