DIC is often associated with various forms of cancer, particularly those that are advanced or metastatic. Certain types of cancer, such as leukemia, pancreatic cancer, and gastric cancer, are more commonly linked to DIC. The presence of cancer cells can disrupt normal coagulation pathways and induce a prothrombotic state.
