Splenomegaly can be a symptom or complication of various cancers, particularly those involving the blood and lymphatic system. These include leukemias, lymphomas, and myeloproliferative disorders. The spleen may become enlarged due to the infiltration of cancerous cells, increased workload in filtering abnormal cells, or as a result of systemic inflammation caused by the cancer.
