What Are the Challenges in Targeting Genes and Proteins in Cancer?
While targeting genes and proteins has shown promise, there are several challenges. Cancer cells can develop resistance to targeted therapies over time. Moreover, the heterogeneity of cancer means that different cells within the same tumor may have different mutations, making it difficult to find a one-size-fits-all treatment.
