The dual role of ROS in promoting both cell survival and cell death complicates therapeutic interventions. Additionally, cancer cells exhibit significant heterogeneity, and their redox state can vary between different types and stages of cancer. Identifying biomarkers to predict the redox status of tumors and tailoring therapies accordingly is crucial for the success of redox-targeted treatments.
