Despite their benefits, there are several challenges in the use of PROMs:
- Time and Resource Constraints: Collecting and analyzing PROMs can be time-consuming and resource-intensive. - Patient Burden: Ensuring that PROMs are not too burdensome for patients to complete, especially those with severe symptoms or fatigue. - Data Integration: Integrating PROMs data into existing EHR systems and clinical workflows can be technically challenging. - Interpretation: Interpreting PROMs data requires training and expertise to ensure that it informs, rather than confuses, clinical decision-making.
