What are the limitations of current cancer therapies?
While advances in cancer therapies have significantly improved outcomes, there are still many limitations. Traditional treatments like chemotherapy and radiation therapy can have severe side effects, impacting the patient's quality of life. Additionally, many cancers develop resistance to these treatments over time, rendering them less effective. Emerging therapies such as immunotherapy and targeted therapy offer new hope, but they are not universally effective and can be prohibitively expensive. The side effects and long-term impact of these newer treatments are also still being studied.
