Cancer is a highly heterogeneous disease, meaning that tumors can vary significantly between patients and even within the same tumor. This heterogeneity makes it difficult to create a one-size-fits-all treatment. While personalized medicine and genomic profiling are promising approaches, they are still in their infancy. The complexity of the human genome and the high cost of individualized treatments pose significant challenges. Additionally, the lack of comprehensive databases to compare patient data limits the effectiveness of personalized treatment strategies.
