What Are the Limitations of Retrospective Studies?
Despite their benefits, retrospective studies have several limitations:
Bias: Selection bias and information bias can affect the reliability of the findings. Incomplete data: The data collected in the past may be incomplete or inconsistent. Confounding variables: It is challenging to control for confounding variables, which can affect the results. Temporal relationships: Establishing a cause-and-effect relationship is more difficult compared to prospective studies.
