Based on extensive research, the WCRF has developed a set of cancer prevention recommendations which include:
Maintaining a healthy weight.
Being physically active for at least 30 minutes a day.
Consuming a diet rich in whole grains, vegetables, fruits, and beans.
Limiting consumption of fast foods and other processed foods high in fat, starches, or sugars.
Restricting intake of red and processed meat.
Limiting consumption of sugar-sweetened drinks.
Avoiding
alcohol consumption.
Not using supplements for cancer prevention.
Breastfeeding babies, if possible, for mothers.
Following these recommendations after a cancer diagnosis, where possible and appropriate.
