The concept of Enhanced Permeability and Retention (EPR) refers to a phenomenon observed in solid tumors where certain macromolecular drugs and nanomedicines tend to accumulate more in tumor tissue compared to normal tissues. This effect is primarily due to the unique pathophysiological characteristics of tumor blood vessels and the lack of effective lymphatic drainage in tumors.
