Stem cell infusion, often referred to as hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (HSCT), is a medical procedure in which a patient receives healthy stem cells to replace damaged or diseased cells. These stem cells can come from the patient's own body (autologous transplant) or from a donor (allogeneic transplant).
