What is the Process of Histopathological Analysis?
Once the tissue sample is collected, it undergoes several steps before microscopic examination:
Fixation: The tissue is preserved using chemicals like formalin to prevent degradation. Embedding: The fixed tissue is embedded in a solid medium like paraffin wax to support thin slicing. Sectioning: The embedded tissue is sliced into thin sections using a microtome. Staining: The sections are stained with dyes like hematoxylin and eosin to highlight different cellular components. Microscopic Examination: The stained sections are examined under a microscope to identify cellular abnormalities.
