The prognosis for patients with irAEs varies. Most irAEs are reversible with appropriate management, but some can cause permanent damage or be life-threatening. Interestingly, the occurrence of irAEs has been associated with better treatment outcomes in some cancers, suggesting that a robust immune response against normal tissues may also indicate a strong anti-tumor effect.
