Mitochondrial dynamics, including fission and fusion processes, are crucial for maintaining mitochondrial function and cellular homeostasis. Abnormal mitochondrial dynamics have been implicated in cancer. For instance, enhanced mitochondrial fission is associated with increased cell proliferation and resistance to apoptosis.
