Why is the Immune System Ineffective Against Renegade Cells?
Normally, the immune system can identify and destroy aberrant cells. However, renegade cells often develop mechanisms to evade immune detection. They may express proteins that inhibit immune cell activity, create an immunosuppressive microenvironment, or downregulate the expression of antigens that are recognized by immune cells. This immune evasion allows the cancer cells to proliferate and spread unchecked.
