Are There Therapeutic Implications of Targeting ABPs?
Targeting ABPs for cancer therapy is an emerging area of research. Inhibitors of ABPs like cofilin and fascin are being explored for their potential to limit cancer cell invasion and metastasis. Furthermore, modulating ABP expression or function could sensitize cancer cells to existing therapies. For instance, targeting the ABP tropomyosin, which stabilizes actin filaments, has been shown to enhance the efficacy of chemotherapeutic agents.
